Mt Kilimanjaro Shira Route August 2008

We trekked with the African Walking Company, which was booked through Exodus in the UK.

Camera Canon 1Ds III with either 100mm Macro, 24-70L 2.8 or 70-200mm 2.8, shot in Raw, using 28G memory, photos are quick edits, most are full frame as shot.

Beware they don't like to bring your luggage from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro airport, we were told this happens a lot, we did get it about 12 hours later, but Jo did not get hers till we were on the way to Londorssi Gate which was 24 hours later, a very stressful night, but a big thank you to Karsten at AWC for chasing it for us.

It was an 8 day trek starting Saturday 2nd August to Saturday 9th August, 12 started, 8 made it to Stella Point with 6 making to Uhuru Peak.

We had great guides, good porters and an amazing chef John who kept me on my Gluten Free diet the whole time.

This wraper was everywhere we walked, somebody has no idea how to look after this world of ours, if it was you how about paying to have your rubish collected, or just stay at home.
